The Museum

Within the DOUMUS PRAESEPIORUM (House of the Crèches) the Klüsserather Krippenfreunde (Klüsserath Friends of the Crèche) assembled an unique and multifaceted exhibition of Christmas Cribs or Nativity Scenes. Throughout the year more than 90 Cribs distributed over some 300 square meters of exhibition space provide an opportunity to experience the art and devotion of the Christmas Crib and find expert knowledge on crib making.

Located within the wonderful and picturesque wine growing area of the central Moselle valley the museum provides its visitors with an unrivaled experience: Precious and artful Christmas Cribs in an attractive setting, knowledgeable guides and dedicated volunteers will lead you into the world of the Crib as far as you wish to go. The Cribs in this exhibitions cover all aspects of art and faith: historical Cribs, local Cribs, contemporary Cribs and Cribs of the World. You will be surprised.

The museum is located in a three-story wine grower's house build around 1680 and considered one of the last remaining angled houses of the Moselle region. The museum is unique in Rheinland-Pflaz and the surrounding states and certainly worth a visit.
