The Association
The museum is owned and operated by the "Klüsserather Krippenfreunde" (Klüsserath Friends of the Crèche) the biggest association devoted to the Crèche in Rheinland-Pfalz and the surrounding states. The sole purpose of the "Klüsserather Krippenfreunde" is to foster, promote and disseminate the Crèche based on its religious, educational, artistic and cultural aspects. Operating the museum in the refurbished winery gives the association the opportunity to present a diverse set of Nativity Scenes in a special and unique setting. More than 250 members support the association and the museum.
Let by the vision of "A créche in every home" the "Klüsserather Krippenfreunde" offer courses on the various arts associated with the Créche: crib building, wood carving, background painting or the making of cloth bearing figures. Every year the association arranges a trip to an exhibition or a particularly interesting Créche, often visiting fellow Friends of the Créche. Every three years the "Klüsserather Krippenfreunde" organize a big exhibition which presents the cribs made during the last years to the public.
Operating the museum in the refurbished winery gives the association the opportunity to present a diverse set of Nativity Scenes in a special and unique setting and fulfill its purpose of fostering the Créche as a cultural and a religious heritage.
